FISA: We have to get this done...	March 03, 2008

Rep. Heather Wilson urges liberal House Democrat leaders to allow an up or down vote on FISA Dear Friends, It has now been a full two weeks since the Protect America Act expired, and our nation’s intelligence officials have told Congress that we are missing vital intelligence everyday. And the problem will only grow worse over time. Last week, I spoke on the floor (see above) urging liberal House Democrat leaders to allow a vote on a bill passed in the Senate by a large majority that reforms the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) and brings it in line with changes in technology. A large number of moderate Democrats have urged their own party’s leaders to bring this bill to the floor to make changes to our nation’s intelligence laws. I will continue to press the Democrat leadership to address FISA, because good intelligence is the first line of defense against terrorism. We have to get this done. Wish you were here,
