Building Jobs |

Dear Friends,
The recession is over, but the recovery is not as strong as any of us would like. And as long as there are New Mexicans wanting a job but unable to find one, we still have work to do.
We will have another economic stimulus bill when we return to the Congress of somewhere between $350 and $550 billion over ten years. Within it, I think our priorities should be accelerating the reduction in personal income taxes, expanding the child tax credit from $600 to $1000 per year, and tax changes that help small business create jobs -- like allowing owners to "expense" more of their equipment purchases in the first year.
There are things we are working on directly to help grow jobs in New Mexico too -- like improving our major roads.
Heather speaks at a press conference at the Double Eagle II Airport to announce federal funding to reconstruct the Pase del Volcan interchange leading from I-40 to the facility. Last week we announced federal funding for two interstate projects that will help attract and keep businesses in two of Albuquerque`s epicenters for job creation: Uptown and the Double Eagle Airport. Good infrastructure helps grow jobs.
It`s good to be home,
