Don't procrastinate: The time to nominate that amazing woman you know is running out!
Congresswoman Heather Wilson is asking New Mexican’s to nominate unsung heroes from around the state. This is an opportunity to give recognition to exceptional women in our community who may not otherwise receive the appreciation they deserve. Do you know a special woman who contributes to enriching the lives of New Mexican’s everyday? Don’t miss this annual opportunity to honor these women and thank them for being empowering leaders in New Mexico. These special woman come from all walks of life, she could be a prominent business woman, a volunteer, a teacher, a mother, or a friend who goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Here are a few of last year's recipients stories: Last year Heather Wilson recognized many unsung heroes for their contributions, two of those women were Dottie Kinney and Peggy Koontz from the not- for- profit organization Bound For Success, Inc. Since it’s inception in 1999 Bound for Success has helped clothe over a thousand women in Sandoval County who are in transition from home to work, school to work, welfare to work; and to victims of domestic abuse. Kinney and Koontz were nominated in 2007 by Fawn Dolan the executive director of Bound for Success.

Dottie is a warm individual with a great since of humor that makes every woman she dresses feel welcome and appreciated during their visit. Thanks to Fawn Dolan’s nomination, Dottie received recognition by Congresswoman Heather Wilson at last year’s event for her generosity of time and commitment to Bound for Success.
Peggy Koontz Another 2007 nomination recipient Peggy Koontz is a part time sales associate with Bound for Success. Koontz was also nominated by Fawn Dolan for her ambition and knowledge of the organization. Peggy creates displays, handles referrals, works PR and has a clear vision of the organizations commitment to make a difference in the lives of the women of Sandoval County. Peggy comes in early and stays late to assure the job gets done. Peggy’s hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed when she received recognition by Fawn Dolan and Congresswoman Heather Wilson.
