CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- The Federal Highway Administration has awarded $276,200 to the West Virginia Department of Transportation to improve and promote national scenic byways in the state.
Rep. Nick Rahall announced the funding Friday.
The West Virginia Democrat said projects include creation of corridor management plans for the Staunton-Parkersburg Turnpike, the Highland Scenic Highway in the Monongahela National Forest and the Midland Trail, a 180-mile segment of U.S. 60 between Charleston and the Virginia border.
