Clinton Meets with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown

Washington, DC Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton today met with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown to discuss a wide range of international issues concerning the Anglo-American relationship. Senator Clinton and the Prime Minister discussed matters of mutual concern including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, China, global climate change and the international economy.  Senator Clinton had previously met Mr. Brown when he served as Britain’s Chancellor of the Exchequer; today’s meeting at the British embassy was the first between the two since Mr. Brown became Prime Minister last summer.

"The enduring friendship between the United States and Great Britain has strengthened our two nations throughout our history. I was honored to discuss this important relationship with the Prime Minister, and I expressed my confidence that  the relationship between our two nations will continue to deepen as we confront a wide range global challenges and opportunities,” said Senator Clinton.
