Washington – Senator Evan Bayh today announced that Pearson Education, Inc., has received a U.S. Army contract of up to $12.3 million to provide pre-kindergarten through 6th grade integrated reading programs for Department of Defense schools worldwide.
“Hoosier companies have a long history of supporting the men and women serving our country in the military,” Senator Bayh said. “Through this contract, Pearson Education is providing the children of our servicemen and women with some of the best reading tools available, and helping the Department of Defense ensure that these students have access to the quality education they deserve.”
The programs that will be provided by Pearson Education include an associated bookshelf program, and a three-tier literary intervention program for grades K-2. Pearson Education employs 560 workers at its Lebanon facilities, where all the work for this contract will be done.
