Blunt Statement on McCain Decision to Return to Washington to Confront Economic Crisis

House Republican Whip Roy Blunt (Mo.) released the following statement today after Senator John McCain announced he will come back to Washington to work with the current Administration and Congress to pass economic stability legislation:
“Senator McCain’s announcement that he will return to Washington to confront the economic crisis facing our nation is a testament to the fact that John McCain is a guy who would rather be part of the solution than runaway from the fight.
“Given the ramifications of what our nation is facing, it is incumbent on members of both parties to come together and find a bipartisan solution for the good of the country. I hope our colleagues on the other side of the aisle will join us in this serious effort.”
