DC Visitor's Guide

Capitol Tours and Galleries
Residents of the Seventh Congressional District wishing to observe Congressional floor proceedings can receive gallery admittance passes at my office, 1440 Longworth House Office Building. Groups of ten or more should call ahead of time to be sure to get the tickets they desire.

If you would like a guided tour of the Capitol building, they are available from the Capitol Guide Service everyday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and last approximately 45 minutes. Tours leave every 15 minutes from the East Staircase (the one that faces the Supreme Court). No reservations are required.

If you are looking for a more personal tour of the Capitol, my staff can be of assistance if arrangements are made in advance of your trip. Please call my Washington, DC office at (202)225-2435 to schedule a staff-lead tour of the Capitol.

White House Tours
These tours are always in great demand and there are many more requests from Congressional offices than there are available tours from the White House. To maximize your chance of getting a tour, I recommend that you contact my office at least 6-8 weeks before your trip to Washington is planned to make the official request and to find out if the White House will be open the day you plan to visit. My office will then submit your request.

If we are successful in booking your tour, my office will contact you with further information. If tours are not available for the day you requested, you can still make alternative arrangements to visit the White House Visitor Center. The center is open seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and features many aspects of the White House, including its architecture, furnishings, first families, social events, relations with the press and world leaders, as well as a thirty-minute video.
