Learn About Congress

As mandated by the Constitution (Article I, Section 2), Congress reconstitutes itself every two years. With each new Congress, Members-elect choose the Speaker. The House also elects the other House officers and adopts the House Rules.

The first day of Congress can be exciting for the Members-elect, much like a student’s first day of classes.  Follow A. Bill’s schedule to learn more about the first day of a new
Congress.
