District Office Internships

My office is currently accepting resumes for spring, summer, and fall internships in my district office.  By assisting my district staff, interns have the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the inner-workings of a Congressional office and how we provide constituent services and interact with the community. 

Fall District Internship:
3rd week of August thru 1st week December
20 hours per week

Spring District Internship:
3rd week of January thru 2nd week of May
20 hours per week

Summer District Internship:
3rd week of May thru 2nd week of August
20 hours per week

Some of the Responsibilities of a District Intern Include:
    *Answering phones and directing constituent calls
    *Opening and distributing mail
    *Typing newspaper briefs
    *Attending district events with Congressman Johnson and/or staff
    *Assisting with casework

Deadlines for Accepting Resumes for Internships:
    Fall - August 3
    Spring - December 15
    Summer - April 27
