Statement on Michigan State Being Announced as the Site for the new
Facility for Rare Isotope Beams

WASHINGTON
—U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) today made the following statement
regarding the Department of Energy announcement that Michigan State University
has been selected to design and establish the Facility for Rare Isotope
Beams. “Today’s announcement from the Department of Energy is wonderful news that could not come at a better time. Locating the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams on the campus of Michigan State is a great victory for the University and our state as a whole. This facility will not only provide outstanding educational and research opportunities, but will create hundreds of new jobs in our state and an economic impact of over $1 billion. “This facility will further solidify Michigan as a top research destination and Michigan State University as a world renowned center for learning.”- U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow |
