Announces New Veterans Health Clinics Coming to Cheboygan, Crawford,
Huron, and Wexford Counties

New clinics expected in 2010
WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) today announced that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will open new Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Cheboygan, Crawford, Huron and Wexford Counties. The new clinics are expected to be open in early 2010. The new clinics will ease the burden of veterans throughout the area who regularly make long and often difficult trips to VA hospitals in other parts of the state to receive basic medical services. “This is welcome news for our Michigan veterans and families who have made great sacrifices in defense of our country,” said Stabenow. “Keeping our promise to our veterans begins by providing each of them access to the health care services they need and deserve, and I commend the VA for making this promise a reality.” Stabenow has led the fight to secure new health clinics in Michigan and strengthen veterans’ access to health care working with veterans and community leaders across our state. |
