Thank you for contacting my office regarding tickets for President-elect Obama’s Inauguration on January 20th. As you may know, each member of Congress is allocated a limited number of tickets to the Inauguration Ceremony by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies. Unfortunately, my office, as well as the rest of the Arkansas congressional delegation, has already received an unprecedented number of requests for the ceremony. Due to the record high demand, my office will no longer be taking requests for Inauguration tickets.

Please know that numerous free public viewing areas are scheduled to be made available for Inauguration attendees who do not have reserved tickets. Further information regarding the Inaugural Ceremony may be obtained at http://inaugural.senate.gov.

Please also be aware that no website or other ticket outlet has the authority to sell tickets to the Inauguration. Tickets will only be available through Congressional offices and will not be distributed to Congress until the days leading up to the Inauguration. Additionally, the tickets will require in-person pick-up.

Furthermore, in the event that you are interested in attending the Inaugural Parade and/or the Inaugural Balls, please know that Senate and House offices will not be given tickets to distribute for these events. The Inaugural Parade is coordinated by the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee. Additional information regarding the Inaugural Parade may be obtained at http://www.afic.northcom.mil/pic.html. Inaugural Balls are coordinated by the Presidential Inaugural Committee and more details such as locations and times will be announced by the committee in the coming weeks.

Sincerely,

Senator Blanche L. Lincoln
