Schumer: Senate No Confidence Vote On Gonzales To Be Held On Monday
Senator: "Referendum on Gonzales's Leadership is Expected to be Close"
Today, Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-NY) announced that a vote of no confidence in Attorney General Alberto Gonzales will be held this Monday. “If all senators who have actually lost confidence in Attorney General Gonzales voted their conscience, this vote would be unanimous,” said Schumer. “However, the President will certainly exert pressure to support the Attorney General, his longtime friend. We will soon see where people’s loyalties lie.”
