Keeping Our Promises to Our Nation's Veterans

By restoring GI Bill veterans education benefits, improving veterans' health care, and strengthening other benefits for our troops and military families, I am working to keep our promises to the courageous men and women in uniform.
In 2007, the new Congress provided the largest annual increase in VA health care spending in 77 years, additional funding to hire 3,100 new claims process to work down the current benefit claims backlog, as well as enacted legislation to develop a comprehensive program to reduce the incidence of suicide among veterans.
