Thune Receives Distinguished Alumni Award from USD Business School

October 8th, 2008 - Sioux Falls, SD - Yesterday, Senator John Thune was recognized by the Beacom School of Business at the University of South Dakota with the 2008 Outstanding Alumnus Award. Senator Thune completed a Master's Degree in Business Administration at USD in 1984.
"I am sincerely honored to receive this award," said Thune. "The Beacom School of Business has earned its reputation as a top business program in the region, as evidenced by the fact that Beacom students routinely score in the top 15 percent of students taking the national exit exam.
"The Beacom faculty has set the highest of standards, and it is paying dividends for individual students as well as the state of South Dakota. I applaud the University of South Dakota and the Beacom School of Business as it continues to grow and prepare students for today's business environment."
The Outstanding Alumnus award is presented to alumni who have exemplified distinguished service to their communities and interests beyond personal gain. The award was presented to Senator Thune by Beacom School Dean Michael Keller.
