Wasteful Spending from Hurricane Relief Approaching $1 Billion


The Washington Post covers a new report that details numerous examples of poor efforts to contain costs in hurricane relief effort. 

Millions more than necessary have been spent providing lodging for people on cruise ships and in hotels, despite evidence that much cheaper housing was available.  Poor planning and coordination are being blamed for the federal government's wasting $1 billion out of $10 billion in hurricane relief.
