harkin announces $500,000 for iowa road improvements

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) today announced that the Iowa Department of Transportation will receive a grant of $500,000 to update and improve the state’s traffic and criminal software programs.  Harkin is a senior member of the Appropriations committee that funds transportation initiatives.

“Investing in our state’s infrastructure keeps Iowa drivers safe and makes our state more attractive to businesses looking to expand or re-locate,” said Harkin. “I am pleased the Iowa DOT has been awarded this grant that will improve traffic flow and update the programs they rely on to keep Iowa travelers safe.”
