Help With the Federal Government

I can assist constituents who are experiencing difficulties with federal agencies. Although I cannot direct the agency to make a favorable decision, an inquiry often facilitates a more timely resolution. Residents of the 8th Congressional District requesting help can contact my Manhattan or Brooklyn office.

Federal Grants Information

For information regarding applying for Federal Grants and Federal Domestic Assistance, and for help finding other sources of non-financial assistance, as well as private foundation funding, please consult my grants page.

Flag Requests

Constituents in the 8th Congressional District of New York may purchase an American Flag through my office for a specific occasion and request that the flag be flown over the U.S. Capitol for an additional charge.  Flags are available in different fabrics and sizes. Please contact my Washington, DC, office for more information.

Internships

Congressional Internships are available in my Washington and New York offices to college students or recent high school graduates. Internships provide an excellent opportunity to see, firsthand, the legislative process in action. Responsibilities include clerical work, researching and responding to constituent mail, and the opportunity to work with legislative staff on special projects. If you would like to apply for an internship, please send a resume and cover letter directed to the Internship Coordinator at our Washington office; if you wish to work out of my Manhattan office, direct your letter to the Internship Coordinator at our New York office.
