Preventing higher cable and satellite television rates, ensuring better service, and promoting competition are a priority of mine. I am very concerned about rising costs for pay television and consolidation of the marketplace. The Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy, and Consumer Rights has held hearings on mergers in the cable and satellite television industries. As ranking member of the Subcommittee I will continue to work with the industry and government regulators to bring more competition to the cable television industry.
