TELEMARKETING "DO NOT CALL" LIST
Court actions last year threatened to prohibit the FTC from enforcing the "do not call" list. Such action frustrates the wishes of more than 48 million Americans who have signed up for the list. However, the most recent court decision from last October will allow the FTC to enforce its “do not call” list and continue to accept phone numbers for the list while the appeals go forward. I am confident that these court battles will be resolved and that in the end, they will merely delay, not stop, the national do-not-call registry. Congress has passed legislation that ensures that the FTC can operate the list. I strongly supported this legislation and am pleased that consumers can still be included on a "do not call" registry. I will continue to support this registry in the future. |
