White-collar federal employees and U.S. Postal Service employees in Puerto Rico and Hawaii County, Hawaii, will receive a boost to their cost-of-living allowance rates on June 30.
The Puerto Rico COLA will increase from 10.5 percent to 13 percent; the Hawaii County COLA will increase from 17 percent to 18 percent.
The Office of Personnel Management said in a Federal Register notice Thursday that Puerto Rico is receiving a larger increase because of its new sales tax.
