Senator Carper announces DAPI grant December 10, 2007 – Laurel
Senator Carper announced $176,000 in federal funding for the Delaware Adolescent Program, Inc. for the Laurel Kids Connection Mentoring Program. The Delaware Adolescent Program, Inc. (DAPI) will partner with the Laurel School District and the Laurel Public Library in presenting the Laurel Kids Connection Mentoring Program. This new program is 1 of only 166 selected nationally for funding by the U.S. Department of Education. Supported by Senator Tom Carper, Delaware was awarded $176,000. Senator Carper presents HUD grant December 7, 2007 – Wilmington
Senator Carper helped present a near $3 million check from HUD to the State of Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) under the Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration program to undertake lead hazard reduction in 246 at risk properties in high risk communities over the three year grant period. The program, housed at the Latin American Community Center, will help many families in the City of Wilmington.
