The Truth About 'Light' & 'Low Tar' CigarettesSenator Lautenberg has led the fight against the Tobacco industry's deceptive practices. In November 2007, Senator Lautenberg chaired a Senate Commerce Committee hearing to examine the accuracy of the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) cigarette testing system, and the marketing claims of tobacco companies based on this system. And on March 3, 2008, he introduced a bipartisan bill with Sen.
