Hudson, NY - Local Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand
today announced that she will hold her eleventh town hall meeting of
the year this Saturday, August 25th at 3:30pm in Essex County. The
topic of the forum will be economic development. As of Saturday's Town
Hall, Congresswoman Gillibrand will have honored her pledge to hold a
town hall meeting in each of the ten counties she represents.
"This is a great opportunity for folks to share their opinions and
concerns on the issues that matter to them and we will have folks on
hand to who will give technical advice on setting up a successful small
business in Upstate New York and how best to take advantage of
available state and federal tax credits, said Gillibrand, a Member of
the Armed Services Committee. "I believe accountability and
accessibility to the families I serve is very important to being an
effective Representative and I am committed to both. I realize people
live busy lives and I want to make it convenient for them to share
their concerns directly with me."
Gillibrand added,
"I am focused on creating good jobs for the North Country and making
sure our local economy is prepared for growth."
At
the beginning of the town hall, Rep. Gillibrand will be presenting Lake
Placid Mayor Jamie Rogers with a copy of the resolution honoring Lake
Placid's 75th Anniversary of the 1932 Winter Olympic Games and
distinguished place in Olympic history that passed the House of
Representatives on July 23rd. In turn Mayor Rogers will be giving Rep.
Gillibrand a Key to the Village.
