Washington, DC – Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand is pleased to announce that Andrea Cole, a student at the Saratoga Springs High School, has been appointed to serve as a Page in the United States House of Representatives. Andrea will go to Washington for the month of July along with approximately 45 other high school students from around the country.
The United State House of Representatives Page Program was created to offer talented high school students the opportunity to work in our Nation’s Capitol while performing an important service to Congress. Pages work directly for the Clerk of the House of Representatives and serve as messengers and support staff for Members of Congress in and around the House Chamber. The process to be chosen as a page is very competitive and nominees are chosen based on high grades and a demonstrated commitment to public service outside of school. Andrea was nominated by Congresswoman Gillibrand earlier this month and formally appointed by the Speaker of the House on April 23rd.
“I am delighted that Andrea will represent New York’s 20th District in the House Page Program this summer,” said Congresswoman Gillibrand. “She exemplifies the talent, drive and passion for public service that students in upstate New York are known for. I am confident that she will make our community proud.”
