Representative Gillibrand to Appear as Featured Speaker at the New Energy Symposium and Hydrogen Exp | Print |

Hudson, NY – On Monday, July 30th at 9:30am, local Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand will be speaking at the Second Annual New Energy New York Symposium and Hydrogen Expo in Albany. 

Congresswoman Gillibrand, Co-Chair of the House Congressional High Tech Caucus, will speak on Congressional progress toward energy independence, the federal government's role in implementing clean energy policy and encouraging the expansion of innovative technologies. In Congress, Representative Gillibrand is very focused on developing alternative energies as a job creator for the Upstate New York region.

"So much of our future success as a Nation depends on facilitating the invention and expansion of New Energy technologies. I am proud that New York State and the Capital District will be leading the way in the promotion of innovative energy strategies." Said Congresswoman Gillibrand.

NanoFab South Auditorium New Energy New York and the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering are hosting the Second Annual New Energy Symposium July 30-31, 2007, attracting prominent players in the energy field from the academia, government, and industry sectors.  The event is organized by New Energy New York ("NENY") and CNSE’s Energy and Environmental Technology Applications Center ("E2TAC"), and sponsored by New York State Energy Research and Development Authority ("NYSERDA"), CDTA, Plug Power, Heslin Rothenberg Farley and Mesiti, Skansa, EYP Architecture & Engineering, CACT at Alfred University, General Motors and Air Products and will be held at the Albany NanoTech complex.  The Expo will feature hydrogen technology demonstrations, student and public educational programs, and hydrogen-related career information.
