Constituent ServicesSenator Conrads Passport Information PageIf you are thinking of traveling abroad and will need a passport, apply early. Unfortunately, many would-be travelers in North Dakota are facing long delays in getting passports. The State Department has been overwhelmed by a record number of applications due to new immigration rules that took effect in January requiring Americans to have passports when flying back from Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. I am very concerned to learn that the State Department has not adequately prepared for this surge of applications and hired staff accordingly. Many North Dakotans have followed the rules to process their application but are still experiencing delays in receiving their passports. To check the status of your passport application, you should call the National Passport Center (NPC) at 1-877-487-2778. Or you can click here to check the status of your passport online.
