Congress passes resolution to honor accomplishments of women
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Heather Wilson (R-NM) today supported passage of House Resolution 1021, supporting the goals, ideals, and history of National Women’s History Month. Wilson was a cosponsor of the resolution, and it passed unanimously by the House.
The resolution continues to commemorate National Women’s History Month in March of each year by recognizing and honoring the women and organizations in the United States that have fought for and continue to promote the teaching of women’s history.
“I’m pleased to be a strong supporter of Women’s History Month and its impact on educating our country on the accomplishments of women,” Wilson said. “These accomplishments and the roles of women throughout history have shaped this nation into what it is today.”
Wilson hosted a Women’s History Month ceremony in Albuquerque on March 25th to honor women in New Mexico who have made a difference in the community, but may have never received recognition for her good deeds. Wilson honored 63 women from New Mexico for their hard work and dedication to service in their community.
