Almost all of Florida's senior citizens qualify for a stimulus check of at least $300. In early February, Congress passed an economic stimulus package to boost the economy and provide a helping hand to those who need it most - Florida's working families, seniors and disabled veterans. Individuals who already file a federal tax return do not need to take any further steps to receive their rebate. HOWEVER, seniors on a limited income who normally do not file a tax return must fill out the two-page 1040A form to receive their check from the IRS.
For additional information and/or to download a 1040A tax form, visit the IRS web site at www.irs.gov or call the IRS tax assistance line at 1-800-906-9887.
