Isakson Statement on Auto Bailout

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., today issued the following statement on the auto bailout legislation passed by the U.S. House of Representatives.

“This problem needs more than a temporary band-aid. The only thing this legislation will accomplish is making sure the auto industry comes back in three months to ask for another handout. There needs to be major restructuring on the part of these companies, and I cannot support using taxpayer money to help the industry at this time.”
