FEINGOLD DISCUSSES LEGISLATION TO REFORM HEALTH CARE AT LOCAL LISTENING SESSIONS
Feingold Highlights Health Care Agenda
During Local Listening Sessions

U.S. Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) will be highlighting bipartisan legislation he introduced April 28th, with Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), at local Listening Sessions. The Feingold-Graham legislation, known as the Reform Health Care Now Act, would make the issue of health care reform a priority for Congress, and create a process that forces Congress to consider legislation to substantially increase access to health insurance. Any bill being considered under the Feingold-Graham legislation would have to cover at least 95% of Americans in ten years while not increasing the national deficit. The bill does not state a preference for any specific type of health care reform -- it simply requires that Congress finally address the need for health care reform. A one-page fact sheet on the Feingold-Graham bill is attached.

“I travel to each of Wisconsin’s 72 counties every year to hold town hall meetings,” Feingold said. “Year after year, the number one issue raised at these Listening Sessions is the same – health care. The failure of our health care system brings people to these meetings in droves. The frustration I hear, the anger and the desperation, have convinced me that we must change the system.”
