Committee Holds Hearing on Waste, Fraud, and Abuse at K-Town: One Year Later

The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing titled, “Waste, Fraud, and Abuse at K-Town: One Year Later” on Wednesday, June 25, 2008, in 2154 Rayburn House Office Building.

The hearing examined what progress has been made on the construction of the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center since the Committee’s last hearing on this topic on June 28, 2007. The Kaiserslautern Military Community Center, a hotel and retail facility being built on the grounds of the Ramstein Air Base in Germany, has been plagued by schedule delays, cost overruns, and allegations of fraud. The hearing reviewed the new findings of a Government Accountability Office investigation.
