Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England Presents Chip Davis with Award

December 10, 2008 - Today, Nebraska’s Senator Ben Nelson met with Chip Davis of Manheim Steamroller fame and Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England to discuss Davis’ award and military personnel issues.

“Chip has been an untiring advocate for our military men and women nationwide,” said Senator Nelson.  “All Americans, but especially my fellow Nebraskans, should be proud of the accomplishments Chip has been able to achieve. He has made many military men and women’s lives a little brighter with his generosity and dedication.”

Davis, a longtime Nebraskan, received the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service for his past and current achievements advocating for the military branches.  This holiday season, Davis’ recording company, American Gramaphone, will donate one million CDs to military personnel and hospitals.
