University of Nebraska at Omaha Civic Leadership: $500,000
Funds are to develop and implement a civic leadership training program.

Tabitha Greenhouse: $800,000
For costs associated with creation of two additional Green House Project® homes.

Northeast Community College – University of Nebraska Medical Center, Norfolk Nursing Division: $700,000
For equipment purchases for a new College of Nursing facility in Norfolk that will be jointly shared by the University of Nebraska Medical Center, which will address the projected shortage of nurses in northeast and north central Nebraska and meet the needs of community/public health and acute level hospital care.

Creighton University Dental Building: $100,000
For costs associated with a new facility to house Creighton’s School of Dentistry.

University of Nebraska at Kearney Early Childhood program: $100,000
To provide an accessible on-line bachelor’s degree program for early childhood educators.

Nebraska Hospital Association –Telehealth: $100,000
To support the Nebraska Telehealth Network whose purpose is to improve quality and access to healthcare across the state of Nebraska, as well as providing an additional communication source in terrorist emergencies and natural disasters.

Boys Town Research Hospital: $500,000
For facilities and equipment for a National Center for Neurobehavioral Disorders to support clinical and laboratory space. The Center will develop models of integrated care for children, age 5 to 12, who suffer from serious emotional, behavioral and developmental problems.

Washington Jesuit Academy: $250,000
To develop and implement a multi-dimensional program to prepare at-risk, low-income adolescent males with the necessary skills to pursue high school and college education.

Special Olympics Games: $11,790,000
A portion of this funding will be utilized by Nebraska localities in conjunction with the 2010 Special Olympics National Games, which will be hosted in Lincoln and Omaha.
