I grew up in small, rural McCook in Southwest Nebraska. I’ve taken my common sense upbringing and put it to work in the U.S. Senate. Whether fighting for agriculture, promoting Nebraska products, lowering taxes, strengthening our national defense, or protecting rural Nebraska, as Nebraska's Senator I am always putting Nebraska’s interests first.

Why I’m Proud to be a Nebraskan
No matter where I travel in the world, I can’t wait to return to my home in Nebraska. People say home is where the heart is, lucky for me the Heartland is my home. Outsiders might not see much but those of us who are fortunate enough to have grown up here know that Nebraska is truly something special.
This land is so special because of what it was built on. We are a state that was, and still is, based upon agriculture, hard work and values. more
