Sen. Hutchison Commends Space Shuttle Atlantis for “Successful Mission”
Cites “Truly International Nature of ISS” with Completion of Mission

WASHINGTON -- Texas’ senior Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), a member of the Space Subcommittee, released the following statement on the safe return of the Space Shuttle Atlantis.

“I commend the seven astronauts, mission control and NASA for the success of the Space Shuttle Atlantis mission. This was a challenging 13-day mission to transfer supplies and deliver the European laboratory module to the International Space Station (ISS), increasing its research capability. This delivery marks a new era and emphasizes its truly international nature.

“All Americans should take pride in NASA and the Space Shuttle Atlantis.”
