Health Care

One of the top concerns among small business owners is the skyrocketing cost of health care. The Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship has made this issue a top priority in the 110th Congress. In February 2007, the Committee held a hearing to examine the impact of health care costs on entrepreneurs and possible solutions to address the crisis.

The Committee will keep the concerns of small businesses front and center as Congress works on a comprehensive solution to address the health care crisis that will make insurance more affordable for everyone and help small businesses provide their employees with quality health coverage. In 2007, the Committee's leaders successfully moved legislation through the Senate to help enroll more dependents of small business employees in the State Children's Health Insurance Program.
