Committee Report to Accompany Contempt Resolutions Filed

On Wednesday, November 19, 2008, Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) filed a Committee Report, with Minority Views, to accompany resolutions finding Karl Rove and Joshua Bolten in Contempt of Congress.  The Senate Judiciary Committee began investigating the dismissals of nine U.S. Attorneys in January 2007, and in December 2007, the Committee voted 12-7 to report resolutions of contempt to the Senate.  The Committee Report filed November 19, 2008, is available online.

  • June 24, 2008 - An Investigation of Allegations of Politicized Hiring in the Department of Justice Honors Program and Summer Law Intern Program
  • July 28, 2008 - An Investigation of Allegations of Politicized Hiring by Monica Goodling and Other Staff in the Office of the Attorney General
