Coleman testifies at Senate EPW Hearing on Bridge Program On September 10, 2008 Senator Norm Coleman testified at an Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee hearing examining a Government Accountability Office report on the Highway Bridge Program. The report, initiated by Senator Coleman, Senator Carl Levin, and the EPW Committee, found that the federal Highway Bridge Program lacks focus and performance measures as currently constructed. In his testimony, Senator Coleman called for reforming the way we measure the condition of bridges, prioritize money for infrastructure work, and the need to provide greater accountability.
