Annual Ethics Training Requirement

    The House rules adopted at the beginning of the 110^th Congress included a new provision that requires the Standards Committee to provide annual ethics training to all House Members, officers, and employees.⁶⁶  The rule also requires that House officers and employees certify by January 31 of each year that they have attended annual ethics training in the prior calendar year under the guidelines established by the Standards Committee.  All new officers and employees must receive ethics training within 60 days after beginning their service to the House.
