    Margaret Spellings, Secretary of Education
    - As the first mother of school-aged children to serve as Education Secretary, Sec. Spellings has a special appreciation for the hopes and concerns of American families. Prior to her tenure as Education Secretary, Spellings served as Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy, where she helped create the No Child Left Behind Act and crafted policies on education, immigration, health care, labor, transportation, justice, housing, and other elements of the President's domestic agenda. Previously, Spellings worked for six years as Senior Advisor to Governor George W. Bush with responsibility for developing and implementing the Governor's education reforms and policies. From the White House and the Statehouse to the school board and college campus, Sec. Spellings has been involved with education policy at every level.

    Representative Louise Slaughter
    - One of the most powerful women in the U.S. House of Representatives, Louise McIntosh Slaughter has achieved a significant level of leadership as the Chairwoman of the influential House Committee on Rules, making her the first woman in history to hold this position. She is the Democratic Chair of two very prominent congressional caucuses: the Congressional Arts Caucus and the Bipartisan Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus, and is the former Co-chair of the Congressional Women's Caucus. In November 2006, Rep. Slaughter was elected to her eleventh term in Congress as U.S. Representative for the 28th Congressional District of New York State. Her diverse district includes the cities of Rochester, Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

    Representative Adam Putnam
    – Adam H. Putnam has represented the people of Florida's 12th District in the U.S. House of Representatives since January 2001, when at the age of 26 he became one of the youngest members of Congress in history. He has since risen to become the chairman of the Republican Conference, the third-highest ranking post in his party’s leadership. He is also a member of the Committee on Financial Services, which oversees all components of the nation’s housing and financial services sectors. He has led improvements to a wide array of laws affecting Floridians, ranging from agriculture and children to small business and social security. During his time in Congress, Rep. Putnam has served as a member of the committees on Agriculture, Budget, Government Reform, and the powerful committee on Rules. In 2003, he was selected to lead the subcommittee on Technology, Information Policy, Intergovernmental Relations and Census. In that post, he worked to reduce the risk of cyberterrorism and was responsible for legislation that strengthened federal computer security.

    Senator Richard Burr
    – On January 4, 2005, Richard Burr was sworn-in to serve North Carolina in the United States Senate. Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1994, Sen. Burr established himself as a passionate legislator on health care issues and worked to restore accountability to the federal government. In the Senate, Sen. Burr serves as ranking member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee where he works to improve the quality of health care and service veterans receive. Sen. Burr also sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee; the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee; the Energy and Natural Resources Committee; and the Indian Affairs Committee.

    Representative David Dreier
    – David Dreier was first elected to Congress in 1980 on a platform of free markets, limited government, strong national defense, and personal freedom. Throughout his service in the House of Representatives, Rep. Dreier has remained true to these principles as he has worked to secure the border, lower taxes, improve education, and promote democracy abroad. He has also been a stalwart supporter for a more cost-effective and accountable government. Rep. Dreier holds numerous positions of influence in the House. He became a member of the House Leadership when he took the helm of the powerful House Committee on Rules in January 1999. The youngest Rules Chairman and the first from California, Rep. Dreier plays a pivotal role in fashioning all legislation for debate in the House. In May 2001, Dreier was unanimously selected by his California colleagues to chair the state’s Republican Congressional Delegation. As Chairman, he leads California’s House Republicans on critical statewide issues. In September 2005, he was asked to temporarily assume some of the responsibilities of Majority Leader. His duties included working with Committee Chairman to advance legislative priorities.

    Cokie Roberts
    - Cokie Roberts is a political commentator for ABC News and a senior news analyst for National Public Radio. From 1996 to 2002, she and Sam Donaldson co-anchored the weekly ABC interview program, This Week. In addition to broadcasting, Ms Roberts, along with her husband, Steven V. Roberts, writes a weekly column syndicated in newspapers around the country by United Media. Both are also contributing editors to USA Weekend, and together they wrote From This Day Forward, an account of their now more than forty-year marriage and other marriages in American history. The book immediately went onto the New York Times bestseller list, following a six-month run on the list by Ms Roberts's first book on women in American history, We Are Our Mothers' Daughters. Ms Roberts is also the author of the bestselling Founding Mothers, the companion volume to Ladies of Liberty.
