    Ralph Nader
    - Ralph Nader is a consumer advocate, lawyer, author, and has been named by Time Magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential Americans in the Twentieth Century. For over four decades Ralph Nader has exposed problems and organized millions of citizens into more than 100 public interest groups to advocate for solutions. His efforts have helped to create a framework of laws, regulatory agencies, and federal standards that have improved the quality of life for two generations of Americans. His groups were instrumental in enacting the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and the Safe Drinking Water Act. In the past decade, Nader has dedicated himself to putting people back in charge of America’s democracy, launching three major presidential campaigns.

    Gene L. Dodaro, Acting Comptroller General
    - Gene L. Dodaro became Acting Comptroller General of the United States on March 13, 2008, succeeding David M. Walker, who appointed him upon resigning. In a GAO career dating back more than 30 years, Mr. Dodaro has held a number of key positions at GAO. For the last 9 years, Mr. Dodaro has served as the Chief Operating Officer, the number two leadership position in the agency, assisting the Comptroller General in providing leadership and vision for GAO’s diverse, multidisciplinary workforce. His day-to-day management efforts ensured that GAO met the Congress’s need for reliable, timely, and relevant information on government operations. Mr. Dodaro oversaw the development and issuance of hundreds of reports and testimonies to the Congress annually. These and other GAO products provided critical information for decision making, saved the taxpayers billions of dollars, and improved a wide range of government programs and services. As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Dodaro led the development of GAO’s strategic plans for serving the Congress and improving government in the 21st century. He also directed GAO’s high-risk program, which focuses attention on and proposes solutions to major management challenges and risks across the federal government. Mr. Dodaro likewise also played a key role in guiding the agency’s efforts to highlight current and emerging issues that warrant attention from policymakers.

    Senator Ben Cardin
    – In 2006, Senator Ben Cardin was elected by the people of Maryland to succeed Paul Sarbanes in the U.S. Senate. As a Senator, he serves on the Foreign Relations Committee, Judiciary Committee, Environment and Public Works Committee, Budget Committee and Small Business Committee. Sen. Cardin represented Maryland's Third Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1987-2006. In the House, he served on the Ways & Means Committee, Budget Committee, Public Works & Transportation Committee, Judiciary Committee, Ethics Committee, House Administration and the Select Committee on Homeland Security. In the House, he also served as the senior Democrat on the Trade Subcommittee and Human Resources Subcommittee of the Ways & Means Committee.

    Senator Amy Klobuchar
    – Sen. Klobuchar is the junior United States Senator from Minnesota. She is a member of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, an affiliate of the Democratic Party and is the first woman elected to the Senate from Minnesota. Formerly county attorney of Hennepin County, she was the chief prosecutor for the most populous county in Minnesota. Additionally, Sen. Klobuchar was a legal advisor to former U.S. Vice President Walter Mondale and partner in two prominent law firms.

    Senator Robert Casey
    – Sen. Casey is the junior United States Senator from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Prior to his election to the Senate in 2006, he served as Pennsylvania’s Treasurer and Auditor General. Sen. Casey serves on the Senate’s Foreign Relations, Agriculture, and Banking Committees as well as the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee.

    Charlie Cook
    - Charlie Cook is the publisher of The Cook Political Report and a political analyst for the National Journal Group, where he writes weekly for National Journal magazine and CongressDailyAM. He also writes a regular column for the Washington Quarterly, published by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and is a political analyst for NBC News. Widely regarded as one of the nation’s leading authorities on U.S. elections and political trends, Mr. Cook has appeared on the ABC, CBS and NBC evening news programs. Before joining the National Journal Group in June of 1998, Mr. Cook wrote for 12 years a twice-weekly column in Roll Call, the newspaper of Capitol Hill. Charlie also served as an election night analyst for CBS in 1990 and 1992, and for NBC in 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2004. Bob Schieffer of CBS News has called the Cook Political Report, "the bible of the political community."

    Dr. Robert Gates, Secretary of Defense
    - Dr. Robert M. Gates was sworn in on December 18, 2006, as the 22nd Secretary of Defense. Before entering his present post, Secretary Gates was the President of Texas A&M; University, the nation's seventh largest university. Prior to assuming the presidency of Texas A&M; on August 1, 2002, he served as Interim Dean of the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M; from 1999 to 2001. Secretary Gates served as Director of Central Intelligence from 1991 until 1993. Secretary Gates is the only career officer in CIA's history to rise from entry-level employee to Director. He served as Deputy Director of Central Intelligence from 1986 until 1989 and as Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Adviser at the White House from January 20, 1989, until November 6, 1991, for President George H.W. Bush.

    Sandy Baruah, Assistant Secretary of Commerce
    - Sandy K. Baruah was nominated by President Bush on September 6, 2005 to serve as the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development, and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on December 17, 2005. Mr. Baruah has served the Bush Administration since 2001. Prior to his nomination and confirmation as the Assistant Secretary, he served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Program Operations and Chief of Staff at the Economic Development Administration (EDA). As Assistant Secretary, Mr. Baruah’s role is to lead and manage the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration, the domestic economic development arm of the Commerce Department.
