The Committee held two days of hearings on the impact of the Administration’s Medicaid regulations on hospital emergency surge capacity and the ability of hospitals to respond to a mass casualty event, such as a terrorist attack using conventional explosives or natural disaster, on Monday May 5, 2008, and Wednesday May 7, 2008.
