Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans

As Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans for the 110th Congress, I actively support the strategic relationship between India and the United States.

In 1993, the India Caucus (as it is more commonly referred to) was founded by Congressman Frank Pallone (D-NJ) and Bill McCollum (R-FL) with only 8 Members of Congress. Today, the India Caucus includes more than 180 Members of Congress and is the largest country caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives.  Together, the United States and India are working to spread freedom and democracy throughout the world. I am pleased to join President Bush and other members of the India Caucus to improve our bilateral relationship, particularly by increasing our military and economic ties between these two great nations.

    Past Republican Co-Chairs were Bill McCollum (R-Fla. 1994-1998), James Greenwood, (1998-2000), Ed Royce (R-Calif., 2000-2002), Joe Wilson (2003-2004), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (2005-2006). Past Democratic Co-Chairs were Frank Pallone (1994-1998), Gary Ackerman (D-NY, 1998-2000, 2005-2006), Jim McDermott (D-WA, 2000-2002), and Joe Crowley (2003-2004).
