LATTA OPPOSES FLAWED FISA BILL

Monday March 17, 2008

Washington, DC -- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) made the following statement after the House Democrat leadership once again failed to act on the bipartisan Senate Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

“After another week of playing partisan politics, the Democrat House leadership has once again put our country in danger by not bringing the bipartisan Senate FISA bill to the floor.  Unfortunately, our intelligence agencies will now go another eighteen days with their hands tied and no authority to keep our freedoms and liberties safe from those who attempt to compromise them.  My colleagues in the Senate realize that national security is not a political game, and it is time for the Democrat House leadership to heed the will of the American public and pass the Senate FISA bill as soon as possible.”
