CONGRESSWOMAN SHEILA JACKSON LEE RELEASES STATEMENT ON BUSH INTERCONTINENTAL FIRE

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Chair of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation Security and Infrastructure Protection Calls For A Full Briefing On The Events Surrounding the Fire

Houston, TX- Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Chair of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation Security and Infrastructure Protection released the following statement in regards to the fire that took place at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH):

“I believe that a full investigation should take place surrounding the George Bush Intercontinental Airport to determine if this fire was started intentionally or accidentally. While I am tremendously grateful that the original assessment of the fire indicated that there were not injuries, we must continue to ensure that airport employees, travelers and airport officials are safe as airlines continue to run.

“As Chair of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation Security and Infrastructure Protection, I will be working closely with Airport Officials to make sure that we vigilantly and diligently keep George Bush Intercontinental AirPort (IAH) operating safely for the traveling public as well as for airport employees.”
