The Committee on the Judiciary Antitrust Task Force and Competition Policy allows the committee to more closely examine important matters implicating antitrust and competition policy. The chairman of the task force is committee chairman John Conyers, Jr., and the ranking minority member is Representative Ric Keller. The task force differs from a subcommittee in that (1) it does not have legislative jurisdiction, but is limited to oversight, and (2) it is limited to a term of six months, although another task force can be established for a similar purpose at any time. Antitrust legislation continues to originate in the full Judiciary Committee.
