We are always excited to meet Kansans visiting our nation's Capital! We encourage and welcome you to visit our office located in the Hart Senate Building, Suite 303. Our staff members can arrange a tour of the Capitol building upon request as well. Please note that these tour reservations fill quickly, so notify our office as soon as you know the details of your visit - three or more months in advance is highly recommended. U.S. Capitol: Tours are offered Monday through Friday at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The tour guides guests through the Rotunda, Statuary Hall, the Old Supreme Court Chamber, and the Capitol Crypt. The House and Senate galleries are open for public viewing only while in session. Senate Gallery passes are required and may be obtained in our office. If you need directions to the Hart building, please call our office in advance to avoid delays for other groups that may be part of your tour. Supreme Court: Tours of the Supreme Court (four or fewer guests per tour) take place at 2 p.m. daily (when in session), and last approximately 30 minutes. Tours must be arranged through your Congressional office. Due to official Court business, Congressional Tours are subject to cancellation. Library of Congress: Directly across the street from the U.S. Capitol sits the oldest building of America's oldest national cultural institution, the Library of Congress. Called the "Book Palace of the American People" when it opened in 1897, the Thomas Jefferson Building continues to captivate visitors with its art, architecture, history. We recommend that you visit the Library of Congress Tour Information website for up-to-date tour schedules.
Bureau of Engraving and Printing: You will see millions of dollars printed during a tour of the BEP! The tour features the various steps in bill production, beginning with large, blank sheets of paper, and ending with wallet-ready bills! As the U.S. Government's security printer, the BEP is responsible for the design, engraving and printing of all U.S. paper currency, as well as postage stamps, White House invitations, Treasury obligations and other U.S. securities. The White House: Parties of 10 or more people may request a tour of the White House. All White House tours are self-guided, and take place Tuesday through Saturday between 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. As always, White House tour schedules are dependent on official events taking place, and sometimes they will have to be either cancelled or rescheduled. Tour requests will be accepted up to six months in advance. THE WHITE HOUSE WILL NOT PROCESS TOURS WITH LESS OF A 3-MONTH ADVANCED NOTICE.
