Moran Receives Perfect Marks from Leading Advocacy Organizations

 
 

Washington, D.C., October 21, 2008 - Congressman Jim Moran, Virginia Democrat, received high marks from some of the nation’s leading public interest organizations which advocate for a variety of important policy positions affecting Northern Virginia and the American people.

“The values and views expressed by these outstanding organizations are consistent with my own,” said Moran. “Their ratings are reflective of my lifelong commitment to the environment, our veterans, civil and human rights and animal protection issues. I’m proud to stand with these respected advocacy organizations on issues so important to our nation.”

League of Conservation Voters: 100% rating; The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) mission is to advocate for sound environmental policies

Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America: A+ grade; Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America is the nation's first and largest group dedicated to the Troops and Veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the civilian supporters of those Troops and Veterans.

Human Rights Campaign: 100% rating; The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality.
